Tiny Twins

These little cuties are being sent to these little cuties! My cousin Cindy just had her newest set of twin grand daughters start their new life. The girls were a little early, but seem to be doing well in the NICU! Cindy was making darling little yarn beanies for the girls and I am sending these to make them really girly! Brooklyn and Aspen belong to Curtis, Cindy's son and his wife Emily, and their big brother Tommy. Cindy's daughter Chrissy had the first set of twins. They are identical twins. They just celebrated their 3rd birthday.
These tiny baby girls make the 5Th set of living twins in our family. Cindy's sister Lori has a set of boy/girl twins. My brothers are fraternal twins as well. My daughter Laci has a set of identical boy twins, that just turned two. Our family has also had it's share of angel twins that were to perfect to live on earth. With all the fertility going around, I wonder who will be next?

My Re-purposed Room Has a Name

Remember this, my newest room makeover? We used to call it the toy room. It held all of the play things for the precious kids that visited during my days as a daycare provider. The kids are long gone, and the need for change was due. I love the look of the room now. I spend almost all of my time in here. My computer and TV are here. All the crafts I do, I do in here too.I still have toys tucked away in ottomans for when the grand kids come to play. My daughter Laci and I were going through blogs and saw a pillow that had the words Nest, with a definition. Perfect! this room will now be called the Nest! While I was at Diana's, she borrowed a Cricut machine from one of her friends. I was so excited to get home and apply my words to the wall.
The wording is perfect. I recently added this little beauty to the shelf If you should find yourself sitting in my Nest, at my craft/computer desk, and look out the back door, this is what you'd see.

These birds are House Finches, and I love them! The daddy bird is very helpful in building the nest.Once the nest is built, and the eggs have been laid, mama waits patiently for daddy to bring her food.I also have three eggs. This year I'm going to try to get pictures of the newly hatched babes. Springtime is the best!

Springtime Happenings

Earlier this month Diana came here for a visit. While she was here we went shopping and this is one of the items she purchased. Little did she know a few short weeks later this would be "home" for a feathered friend. Can you see it?Here's a closer shot. She called me so excited. She likes the bird that come to nest and share their babies with me every year. She was so happy to get to have her own bird family. Diana took a picture of the nest and was excited to have one little blue egg inside. I had to have a look for myself, and was a little jealous that her bird family has such a pretty place to call home. My bird family just sits atop a beam under my patio cover. While I was taking pictures I was so excited to share with her that since the last picture she took, there was not just one egg, but three! I love how the mama bird knows just how to make a sturdy nest for her babies yet at the same time weaving only the softest of findings for their bed. We borrowed her living area for a photo shoot of us girls. All the while Mama was hiding in a nearby tree.......looking this way......and that way, to make sure no harm would come to her babies. Mama birdie, we know just how you feel, we would do the same for our babies too!

On a funny note, while we were taking this picture I left my purse on the driveway. Guess who has perfect aim and backed her car over my purse, even stopping on top of it before pulling forward again? That's right, Diana! Luckily I had lots of coins that made my wallet fat. The only thing inside that was broken was a hair clip! My phone, glasses and lotion were not harmed!

We NEED to do This Again!

This all started with Sandie's kids being on spring break. She wanted to take the two youngest of her four to do something fun. The older two were on a trip with the school band. She decided to go to Diana's house in Arizona. Well, Cindy was up for a road trip, so she tagged along. I heard about it and decided I wanted to go have a little fun too. Well, let me tell you....I didn't have a little fun, I HAD LOADS OF FUN! We shopped, giggled, played laser tag! laughed, and just did silly things. Sandie's kids were so fun. They had never seen a palm tree and just wanted to hug one, crazy kids! We were driving and Chris kept telling me ..."Oh, take a picture of that fat short one". "Look at that really tall and skinny one, get that one too" We started out our day with visiting one of Diana's friends that has a Cricut, we needed to borrow it for a few craft ideas. Then we were off to Hobby Lobby, I had never been in one. I'm so glad we don't have them in sunny CA. I would be in there all the time! We all went to play Laser Tag! WOW, what a kick in the pants! So, so fun!
After we picked up a few pizza's at Costco, where we saw palm trees up close and personal. This Yucca poked both Chris and Tiffany. I don't think they knew just how sharp the leaves were... they know now!I'm not sure if anyone saw THIS old lady lying down, on the blacktop, in a Costco parking lot, just to try to get a feel of how tall this tree was. The night sky swallowed up the top on the tree. After pizza we had time for playing games, Cindy was playing with Gracie and Sienna, ......and then the four of us, Cindy, Sandie, Diana, and I had time to do what we do best....FARMVILLE! What a sight, all of us sitting around the family room with our laptops on, playing Farmville! Friday morning was time for everyone to travel back to where we came from.Load 'em up. Plenty of munchies, snacks, or travelers. Everyone has a different name for them. This car is going to Colorado. Chris let it be known that he was "A sexy BEAST!" He is also my newest BMF (best male cousin friend), and Tiffany is my newest BFF, (best female cousin friend). I guess we should have added a "C" to the mix. Cindy blowing kisses! OH cousins! You really need to participate if we do this again! You all are so lucky to have so many sisters! I only wish I had them. Diana suggested we do a women's retreat, maybe she will plan the next get together!
Until then...ta ta for now See you next time!!

Road Trip!

I'm very excited, I'm going on a road trip all by myself! Okay, driving by myself, but getting to hang out with THREE of my cousins for a few days! Diana lives in Arizona, Cindy and Sandie in Colorado. Sandie's kids are on spring break and she decided to go visit Diana. Cindy decided to tag along. I then thought, hey it's only Arizona, I want to go too.....after all it's been a year since I went to visit them, remember this? Actually Diana and her little family were here 3 weeks ago, but I haven't seen the others in over 3 years. Hopefully I will have time to visit my mom's cousin La Vonne too while I'm there. I'll be home Friday, see ya...bye!
