Tiny Dancer

This past Saturday was Kelsea's first dance recital. She is in a class that is called Just Dance. The program was very well put together and oh so cute! She was in three numbers. The first was Que Sera Sera... The next was Lion Sleeps Tonight.. and last was Up Town Girl...
She did a great job! Here she is with her flowers from Grandma Kathy G.

A Fine Line....

Kinda makes you wanna go hmm...
Here's what happened tonight. The phone rings...it's that time of night that the telemarketers ignore the fact that we are registered with the Do Not Call List are busiest. When the phone rings and the caller ID says OUT OF AREA, the question is...to answer or not to answer. So, when faced with this decision, (and computers are usually calling)
I only say Hello one time! If it is a computer calling, and you don't say hello the second time, it hangs up. So here is the play by play:
Me... Hello

Silence..........................

Ms. Telemarketer.......uh.....hehello?

Me...yes?

Ms. Telemarketer.....Hi, I'm calling from the Rescue Mission.

Me...yes?

Ms. Telemarketer.....Alright...Thank you, BYE.......CLICK

What was that all about?
Like I said, there is a fine line....
between being psycho and psychic! Did she know I was going to tell her that I was on the Do Not Call List, and to please remove my name from her list. Or.....
Hmmm....

Wedding (Anniversary) Wednesday

This picture was taken just four short years ago. It seems like it was yesterday. We were all gathered on a beautiful bluff, overlooking the ocean, while they pledged their love and commitment to each other. This picture was taken five days ago, at another wedding, Matt's brothers wedding. Look how their family has grown in those four short years. What a beautiful family they have. I'm so proud!
Have a great time on your anniversary!

Eletents!

I started making my version of an infant car seat canopy, shortly after my granddaughter, Kelsea, was born. I call it an Eletent because it "tents" your baby from the "elements" ...hence, Eletent! No more throwing a blanket over the handle of the car seat. The velcro tabs secure the Eletent to the handle giving you a firm grip on your most precious possession. Eletents shield baby from rain, snow, wind, sun, prying hands, and germs! Since then I have sold, or gifted, well over 150 of them. Caring for them is easy, just throw them in the washer and dryer. They can also be used in a pinch for a changing pad while on outings. They make the perfect shower gift! People that use them get stopped frequently and asked about them. So, here are a few pictures to show how useful they really are. I have a variety of patterns to choose from, and can usually fill orders on the day of ordering. If you would like to order, or have any questions, please leave a comment....

Hidden Treasures

Lately I have been cleaning, I mean DEEP cleaning. Closets, drawers, and things stashed away in nooks and boxes. There are a few good things that have come from this. I "found" a bag of flower seeds that I had bought long ago. The plant year was 2005....I gave it a try, planted them, and guess what? They started to sprout....until my beautiful grand kids decided to dig in the tempting rich dirt that was calling them to come play. A few of the seedlings have survived but for the most part it will be a small harvest of flowers this year. Next, I "found" two gift certificates, one for a mani-pedi, the other for a day at the spa (this one was from Matt and Laci 3 years ago). Whoo hoo! The best treasure was yet to come. I was cleaning out my drawers in my dresser. This dresser belonged to my grand mother. For as long as I can remember she had this beautiful seven piece maple set. After Grandma passed away, my mom took over ownership of this set. I love the old charm and beauty of the warm maple color of this bedroom set. When my mom passed away, it was one of the first and few thing I chose to come to my home. I suppose the complete set is somewhat like the women in our family. We are strong, warm, work better as a complete set, (or family,) and can hold treasures for a lifetime. I regress, I was cleaning out the drawers and decided the drawer liner was in need of a new look. When I picked up one of the liners what treasures did I find? I think it only fitting to show what I found in a dresser drawer, tucked away for safe keeping , by a mother who loved her two daughter to pieces. There were two silhouettes, one of my Auntie Rita( I delivered hers to her) dated 1946, and the other of my mom dated 1947. Mom's was signed "Mothers Day May 14, 1947" at the bottom. How lucky to find such a treasure, in such great shape, lasting for so many years, tucked away by a young mother, so many years ago.
So, on this Mothers Day I would like to thank my grandmother for saving her "gift" for me to find, my Mother for teaching me many of life's greatest lessons, and my daughters for being the awesome mom's that they are. They make my job as Mom, one that I just LOVE!

When You Thought.....

I received this in an email from my friend Patty. I think it is something we can easily do to be a good example for the children in our lives........
This is so beautiful..... A message every adult should read because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say...

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life....

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing, and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's alright to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.'

I AM SENDING THIS TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS,BUT THINK THAT NO ONE EVER SEES. LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT ..
Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, friend) influence the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today? Just by sending this to someone else, you will probably make them at least think about their influence on others.
Live simply.. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God

Oh So Cute!

I love to read blogs! Sometimes they are very sad, sometimes happy, and sometimes you find really cool things to make! I love this site. She is so creative! Today I made these cute little cake bites. I will have to practice to have them turn out as perfect as the one's Bakerella makes. This crafty lady also did a great job when she made cake pops! Go check out their blogs, I'm sure you'll find something fun to do.

Weekend Fun, and Adorable Babies

Saturday the girls and I went to the O C swap meet. It was perfect weather for walking the grounds. We bought a few things and had lunch then came home. FUN! We dropped Dana off then went to Laci's. Matt was in Las Vegas for a bachelor party for his brother, so I spent the night. This morning, Laci and I were joining her friends for the March of Dimes Walk For Babies . We arrived on the Loma Linda Campus around 7:30 AM . We were a group of 5 women, 6 babies, and 2 toddlers. This is Mackenzi and Evan holding hands. Evan's adorable sister, Macy. Macy wanted to play with Lincoln, her adorable little cousin. Lincoln's adorable twin, GavinMackenzi's adorable brothers, Jace and Quinn. Mackenzi was playing with Evan IN the planters! We spotted this little Poodle wearing pink princess clothes and pink shoes, just like Mackenzi's. She even knows how to look at the camera! We thought she was so funny...silly dog.

The Recital

Friday night I went with the Gus Fam to see my little Braeden at his first piano recital. He did AWESOME! I am so proud of his ability to learn. He seems to soak up everything so easily. His piano teacher put on a very nice program. There were a total of 8 kids playing. Their ages ranged from 5 to about 14 years old. They all did great. She "Took us Around the World With Music" Each child played a piece from a different place, by a different composer. She had boarding passes, with each "destination" on it, an itinerary if you will, of the evening's pieces. She really did a good job, it was so nice!
The after party was at Dana and Kevin's house. Dana, Kevin, Brad, Kathy, Greg, Stephanie, and the kids all attended. We had a great time making cookies and just hanging out.
