This Place is Going to the Birds!

It seems that there is a trend happening in my home. Tucked away in places, in several rooms, are little birds. Not the real kind, but those made of plaster, resin, and cement. It's a matter of time before the real kind set up housekeeping on my patio. They really love it here . I guess I do like birds, fake birds more than real though. I had my cousin Diana here last week and she brought me a little sumpin, a bird feeder! A dang cute bird feeder. I do like birds, however I am not a fan of bird seed. I am far too anal about my yards to allow wild grasses and weeds to grow when the seeds are spilled. I thought about hanging it outside for when our yearly visitors arrive. I thought maybe dried fruit would be a better food...heck I don't even know if House Finches like fruit. So, a better idea popped into my head, take a look!I used a little hot glue and this feeder has a permanent place to perch, in my newly redone all purpose room.
This little guy has an angry look, but I can assure you he is really happy with his new home! Let me show you around, introduce you to all my birds and the places they call home.
Don't get me wrong, this Nana's favorites are still Ladybugs ! And of course, a ladybug bird house!

Oh, and speaking of darling little birds, hop on over and check out this talented artist! She has THE sweetest little birds ever! Her roosters are fabulous too!
*sidenote* The page that had the darling birds on it has been removed. You can still check out Terri's work at http://www.dimplesdragonflies.com/

Opening Day

Yesterday was opening day for Braeden's little league. Last year he played T-ball, this year is farm. Kelsea is the bat girl, while Kevin is one of the coaches.
Braeden is on the Tigers again this year.
I'm not sure, but it looks like Braeden thinks his team will be # 1 this year!

My Happiest Place on Earth

Yep, that would be MY house with out of state visitors, Diana and her family. Double the happiness when Laci comes with her three in tow. We had a fun day of chatting (the adults), lunch, and lots of playing (the kids). Most of the back yard toys are put away for the winter. However, we keep a few toys out for easy access. Kelsea is a real dare devil. She is a climber and has no fear. Mackenzi wanted to climb the tree with Kelsea...the problem is the chair is too heavy.
Kelsea to the rescue! Happy Mackenzi! Gracie was in charge of driving the pirate ship. All aboard mateys! Only one taker so far.
Hurry everyone, into the ship...we have a real pirate trying to takeover!Whew, she didn't want to take over, she just wanted to jump ship....ha!
Where was Mackenzi during all this? Fishing for lunch. After lunch, Laci grabbed the camera and took a few shots of her three. Thanks Laci, I needed to update the pictures on the walls.

The Happiest Place on Earth

This week we had visitors! Jason, Diana and their cute little family came for a mini-vaca. The reason, to go to the Happiest Place on Earth. They were here in September for Diana's birthday, had loads of fun then too. They recently participated in the "Give a Day, Get a Day" program Disneyland is sponsoring. Two days for the price of one, what could be better? We just arrived and are on our way to meet up with everyone inside California Adventure. We found Jason, Diana, Gracie, Sienna, and Diana's old and dear friend Sarah, toting her baby Brooke. Gracie is glad to see us.Kelsea and Gracie look more like sisters than cousins. Hamming it up!This ride is a "Toy Story" ride. You wear glasses and shoot at moving targets...so fun!Like mother's...like daughter's!Sienna is such a happy baby! Brooke is happy as well!
Disneyland is at it's finest in the spring, yes...it looks like spring. I only took a picture of the Iceland Poppies, but the Tulips and Hyacinth were absolutely beautiful, and oh so fragrant.
Can you tell this ride is called "California Scream'in"? Kevin, Jason, Diana, and Sarah. At some point we are all guilty of being tourist somewhere....these girls were so cute! But seriously.....48$ on turkey legs? So not in my budget! So, my out of state friends and relative, come on over! We are so close to the happiest place on earth, and you've got a friend in me!
