You've Got To Be Kidding Me!

Laci thought it might be fun to start this blog carnival. I will be the first to link a post. Tonight I am having a slumber party with Kelsea and Mackenzi. Early this afternoon we came to my house. We have played in the toy room, played in the back yard, colored in coloring books, had dinner, then went to buy Princess Sing Along Movies. When we got home we decided we were going to go swimming. Great idea...wear them out, bathe them, pop some popcorn, watch a movie and then easily go to sleep! What a plan! Swimming was great. The girls even swam for a bit with no magic suits on, great! It's getting to be almost 7pm so I decide its time to put the rest on the plan in motion. We're at the back door, dripping wet...I take Kelsea's suit off and hang it on the fence to dry. As I'm doing this Mackenzi keeps telling me" I didn't go poop in my bathing suit, it's too pretty to poop in". I say; I know, you are a big girl and go poopie in the potty, yes you do have a pretty bathing suit. Again, she tells me the same thing, as I'm taking her suit off.........and out plops a big turd on the patio!!!! That kid doesn't even skip a beat.... she says, with a lot of awe, "wow, is that a leaf? cause, I didn't go in my bathing suit, it's too pretty!" No Mackenzi, it's not a leaf, it's poopie, and you did go in your pretty bathing suit! We got cleaned up and everything was good ....until I started thinking....how long was that "leaf" in her bathing suit, in the pool, while I was swimming and floating on my back looking and acting like a whale blowing water out of my mouth like it was a blow hole??? ....and I thought...... this is a You've Got To Be Kidding Me Moment if I do say so myself!

It's a Giveaway!

Stephanie over at It's The Little Things is having a giveaway for her 200Th post. I have talked about her before, she is our Fancy Photographer. She does a fabulous job capturing memories! She and her partner have a photography business, G & M Images, head on over and check out their work. Here is a picture of my favorite picture I have ever taken. Dana, Laci and I took the the kids and went to the beach to take maternity pictures of Laci. She was 32 weeks pregnant with the twins. We were hoping for a nice day, with no rain. We couldn't have asked for better weather on that winter day, in January of 2008. Four weeks later Jace and Quinn were born. Laci was on semi bed rest, and tossing Mackenzi in the air was probably not a good idea. Luckily we got a good shot on our one and only try!

My Singin' Sweetie!

A Happy Girl!

On our way home from the river we stopped at Dana and Kevin's house to drop off a few things. Kelsea thought it was a perfect day to come home with us to spend the night. She was in such a good mood. She carefully packed her princess suitcase. She is very independent, she packs very well for a 3 year old. She even packed her ladybug shirt "cause you love ladybugs, huh Nana". She didn't care that it was a long sleeved shirt, her thoughts, I would love to see her in it. We had a great time. There is nothing better than waking up to a sweet little voice saying, "dood mornin Nana, wet's dough dit donuts". For some reason, donuts are ALWAYS the preferred breakfast while staying at Nana's. Kelsea in her car seat, purple baby sister safely buckled up with her. Donut consumed....uh oh, she just noticed she was on her way home!

While she was crying all she kept saying was that she brought clothes for "alotta days"!

Our Spot on the River

Hard times and cutbacks are happening everywhere. Our household is no exception. This weekend, after our trip to see the big waves at the beach we headed out to the river. We arrived a little after 9 PM to a trailer that was 114 inside. The temp outside, a cooler 110...wow! It seemed to take forever to cool down but finally we had a good resting temp of 69 degrees. The morning sunshine got us out of bed early, while it was somewhat cooler, to start the moving process. Yep, we gave up our much loved spot to move our trailer to long term storage. We can still go anytime we want. There are plenty of camping spots to pull our home away from home into should we get the bug to head out for the weekend. We just have to move it into one of those spots and plug it in. The economy may have put a kink in our weekend plans, but it hasn't ended our enjoyment yet! So sad, this is our ols spot...empty!

Heat Waves and BIG Waves

It's summer in Cali. It's hot! This weekend huge amounts of people decided to head towards the beach to get a little relief from the valley's heat. Add to the pull, our coast was having waves larger that we normally have. The traffic heading to Newport was crazy to say the least. There were sand moving bulldozers lined up by the pier having done their job of making berms to protect the businesses and homes along the shoreline.Newport Beach Saturday morning....then on to the Colorado river Saturday night.

Flash Back...Fast Forward

1990 something
Today

Flashback Friday

We spent many years at the Colorado River/ Lake Havasu when the kids were growing up. Heck, I have spent many years there during MY growing up. Quite possibly that is why I still love going there today. Life is a little slower, a little bit lazy, somewhat carefree, and just plain fun in the sun! I guess what pulls me back there every time is the feeling that I don't have a care in the world, back to the days when life's problems belonged to my parents. Now if I could only have my little girls, and THAT body back, it would be paradise!

Please pardon our Popsicle puckers. They were positively pleasant. Our playful pint sized pals partook of the polar pops and posed perfectly!!

PRICELESS!!!

Pleasantly plump playful pups too!
